Changing Tracks: Kathie Cooper
- Published in Changing Tracks
This week Kathie Cooper gets on the train. She is from the U.S. and tells us how she got to know Our Lord and ended up entering the Catholic Church. She is from a non-practicing Protestant family, and would simply accompany her grandfather to the Lutheran Church on Christmas while staying at his house. When she finished high-school, she decided to study nursing and went to the Jesuits' College in California. She made both Protestant and Catholic friendsthere. Kathie began to assist at Mass on Sunday while attending Protestant Bible studies during the week. In a moment of despair, she cried out to the Lord, "God, I know you are there! I want to know you!" She left nursing and began to study philosophy. A woman from her Bible study group tried to convince her to stop going to Mass and to enter the Evangelical Church. In this program she tells us how she cleared her doubts about the Eucharist, the Virgin Mary, and Scripture, thus being able to finally enter the Catholic Church.
