“From the Darkness to the Light” is the experience in many lives transformed by God’s intervention, causing them to begin “Changing Tracks.” Although they come from different backgrounds and their conversions have taken place among differing circumstances, they all give thanks to Jesus Christ for having come to find them. They thank Him for having given meaning to their lives, for curing their deep wounds, for giving them happiness and for filling them with love. Come on board this train and let yourself be guided by their stories so that you can also begin “Changing Tracks.”

Changing Tracks: Cynthia Gardner

Cynthia Gardner grew up in the Presbyterian Church, though her faith was not very strong. She married Michael Gardner, previously interviewed in Changing Tracks, and though her husband was Methodist they continued attending the Presbyterian Church. Through conversations with a friend, she decided to buy a book about the Marian apparitions in Medjugorje, which changed the direction of her own life and that of her whole family. After many discussions with her husband and interior battles about whether or not to enter the Catholic Church (because of the incoherence of many Catholics), she reached the conclusion that the Truth was to be found in the Catholic Church. And wanting not only to save her own soul but those of her family, she decided to enter the Church. She joins us today to tell us how a Protestant changes tracks because of an intense love for the Blessed Virgin.

Changing Tracks: Michael Gardner

Michael Gardner was born into a Protestant family, but in reality the family environment was more pagan than anything else. Later on, his faith began to grow in the Methodist Church, in which he became a very active member even recording radio shows. He married a Presbyterian woman and they had three daughters that they raised in the Presbyterian Church. After nearly 10 years of marriage, his wife converted to Catholicism. His reaction was, “Great, but I'm not.” In this program he tells us how, after many novenas and fervent prayers on his family’s part, he too embraced the Catholic faith. He now tries to live his faith in his family, in his business, and in all aspects of his daily life.

Changing Tracks: Joseph Fadelle

Joseph Fadelle was born in Iraq into a Shiite family; his father is a direct descendant of Muhammad. His journey towards discovering the truth about Christ began while reading the Quran. He realized that it could not be a book from God. A friend of his gave him a Bible and he soon desired to receive baptism. However, due to the threats of the Muslims and even his own family, he had to wait 13 years. Here he shares with us the joy he experiences in living the faith despite the fact that his life is in constant danger.

Changing Tracks: Abby Johnson

Abby Johnson played an important role in Planned Parenthood, America’s number one abortion provider. While there, she remained convinced of the use of abortion as a “lesser evil” in cases of unwanted pregnancies. She herself underwent two abortions.
In witnessing an ultra-sound made during an abortion, she discovered how the unborn child struggles for survival, defending itself from the abortionist’s instruments. This made her realize that what was in the mother’s womb was in fact a human being and led her to quit her job. Following her own faith journey, Abby converted to Catholicism and is now a pro-life advocate.

Changing Tracks: Brother Brian Jackson

Although baptized a Presbyterian, Br. Brian didn´t really live his faith when he was younger. He got drunk for the first time when he was 13 years old and started getting into drugs. He centered his life around girls and sports. But God broke into his life powerfully and unexpectedly, and from that moment on, he changed completely. Listen to him tell us how he went from being a Protestant bus preacher to what he is now, a future Catholic Priest.

Changing Tracks: Sr. Kristina Pezo, S.H.M.

She didn´t want to give up her superficial, lukewarm Christian life but the Lord was calling her to more... Sr. Kristina Pezo was living a typical, superficial life. She spent hours on the Internet doing nothing and hanging out with her friends. Everything changed during Holy Week of 2005. Soon after, she went on Spiritual Exercises where she first experienced the call of God. For three years, she ran from the vocation until finally saying yes. Check out this week´s episode of Changing Tracks!

How can I help?

Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, up until now we have been able to continue our evangelization through the media. The needs, however, are growing and many times there are unexpected expenses due to maintenance, the purchasing of new machines, etc.
